Blutige Abstimmung - die Taliban sabotieren mit Anschlägen die Parlamentswahlen in Afghanistan

Marcus SchlenchSeptember 18, 2010

# Voting ended Saturday afternoon in Afghanistan's parliamentary election, the second in the country's recent history. Election officials said most of the polling stations across the country were open but at least 153 stayed closed because of security concerns. Taliban militants conducted dozens of attacks, but security officials said the insurgents failed to disrupt the vote. At least eleven people were killed and even more injured, according to initial reports. The poll is seen as a key test of the credibility of president Hamid Karzai's government.
