Kontrola jak w Alcatraz
Już na wejściu jest niewesoło: bramki bezpieczeństwa, zabezpieczenia dobrze znane z lotnisk lub budynków użyteczności publicznej. Widok dwóch strażników nie jest niczym specjalnie zaskakującym, jednak wzbudza swego rodzaju lęk. To artystyczna apoteoza społeczeństwa kontrolowanego. Zresztą w całym Dismaland kontrola jest przez tego najsłynniejszego streetartowca wyniesiona do poziomu absurdu.
Zero cukierkowego kiczu
Czy to pałac z bajki czy nawiedzone, piekielne zamczysko? I jaka księżniczka chciałaby, do diaska, tu zamieszkać? Banksy parodią celnie uderza w stereotypy: tu odwiedzający może zapomnieć o cukierkowej idylli znanej z klasycznych parków rozrywki. Jedno jest pewne: gość zostanie skonfrontowany z makabryczną rzeczywistością. Także to diabelskie koło nie wzbudza zaufania.
Atak ptaków jak u Hitchcocka
Na każdym kroku Dismaland zaskakuje nowymi instalacjami. Ta scena jak żywo przypomina thriller Hitchcocka pt. „Ptaki". Nie bez kozery Banksy określił swój park miejscem nieprzyjaznym rodzinie. I nie ma wątpliwości, że dzieci po wizycie w Dismaland miałyby koszmary.
Sceny jak po wybuchu nukleranym
W Dismalandzie nawet zniszczenia wywołane wybuchami atomowymi przestają być tabu. Grzyb jądrowy - instalacja wykonana przez Dietricha Wegnera, jak i wiele pozostałych eksponatów, przypomina o niszczycielskiej mocy technologii jądrowej. To także rodzaj upomnienia dla ludzkości o bezsensie prowadzenia wojen. Czyżby apel pozbawiony nadziei?
Radiowóz zamiast lilii wodnych
W tej instalacji władza państwa przedstawiona jest w formie charakterystycznego dla Irlandii radiowozu, który wpada do wody. Czy zielona ślizgawka ma symbolizować wyjście z sytuacji? A może artysta gra po prostu odwiecznym konfliktem w Irlandii? Tę zagadkę muszą rozwiązać sami zwiedzający.
"Big Rig Jig"
Tak właśnie Mike Ross z Los Angeles nazwał swoją gigantyczną instalację wykonaną z ciężarówek i rur. Artystę zafascynowała moc tych maszyn. W tworzeniu całej wystawy wzięło udział ok. 60 światowej sławy artystów, jak m.in. Damien Hirst, Jenny Holzer, Jimmy Cauty, Bill Barminski, Caitlin Cherry, Polly Morgan i Josh Keyes.
Nareszcie milej. Ale tylko trochę....
To jedne z niewielu w miarę pokojnych miejsc w Dismalandzie. Ten, kto usiądzie na ławce w formie rolki papieru toaletowego, może ukoić wzrok i rozkołatane nerwy widokiem plaży. Ale ostrożnie - tu również czai się zło.
Karuzela z mordercą
Na pierwszy rzut oka to tylko banalnie pięknie odmalowana karuzela. Ale uwaga, ta idylla za chwilę pryśnie jak bańka mydlana: człowiek w zakrwawionym stroju rzeźnika trzyma w ręku nóż. Kto odwiedza Dismaland musi być ciągle przygotowany na tego typu mrożące krew w żyłach atrakcje.
Show z oprawcą
