Kenyatta na Raila washiriki maombi ya amani

Wagombea wawili wanaopewa nafasi kubwa ya katika uchaguzi utakaofanyika Machi 4 mwaka huu nchini Kenya, wameshiriki katika sala ya kuliombea taifa hilo kufanya uchaguzi wa amani na utulivu na kupuka kuepuka vurugu

Wagombea hao wawili ambao ni Waziri mkuu wa sasa Raila Odinga, na Uhuru Kenyatta mtoto wa Rais wa kwanza wa nchi hiyo, wote walijiunga na maelfu ya raia wengine wa Kenya katika kuiombea Kenya iwe na uchaguzi wa amani na salama.

''Uchaguzi wa mwaka 2007 na machafuko yaliyofuatia sasa ni historia'' alisema Uhuru Kenyatta, ambaye aliamua kuingia kinyang'anyiro cha kumrithi rais anayeondoka Mwai Kibaki, licha ya kukabiliwa na kesi katika mahakama ya kimataifa ya uhalifu kuhusiana na tuhuma za vitendo vya uvunjifu wa haki za binadamu katika uchaguzi wa mwaka 2007. Watu zaidi ya 1000 walipoteza maisha yao katika ghasia hizo, na wengine kadhaa kulazimika kuhama makazi yao.

Mgombea urais Raila Odinga

Katika sala hiyo bwana Kenyatta aliahidi Ninaahidi kuwa atahubiri amani muda wote. Kwa upande wake Raila Odinga, naye pia aliwataka wakenya kuweka mbele amani. ''Sote tunatakiwa kuhamasisha amani, hatuhitaji mapigano baina yetu, sisi wote ni wakenya, tuchague viongozi wetu kwa amani na utulivu´´ alisema Raila Odinga.

Aidha, Odinga alisema kuwa machafuko ya mwaka 2007-2008 ambayo yalisababisha maelfu ya watu kuhama makazi yao, yalibadilisha mtazamo wa kisiasa, na kuharibu picha ya kenya ambayo ni muhimili wa amani katika ukanda huo.
