Potsdam's Night of the Palaces
August 17, 2017Visitors to the 19th Night of the Palaces on 19 August can celebrate like the former Prussian King Frederick the Great in Sanssouci park. To celebrate the event, hundreds of spotlights and light installations will light up the paths and the historical buildings in the magnificent palace park which is a UNESCO World heritage site.
On the previous evening (18 August) star violinist Daniel Hope will perform Vivaldi's Four Seasons outside the New Palace.
The organizers say they have totally reformed the event and will present new highlights this year. The theme is French street theatre and will include a performance by the group Quidams. Six meter tall illuminated silk horses will float over the vineyard terraces of Sanssouci Palace. And visitors can sample King Fritz craft beer.
Tickets are still available and can be bought on the evening for 50 to 60 Euros.
