India’s Noodle scandal

For decades, Nestle India’s Maggi Noodles have offered millions of Indians with what they thought was a dependable food. But after tests found unusually high levels of lead in the product, the country’s favorite snack was recalled and subsequently banned. The whole incident has put a spotlight on the safety standards of packaged and processed food.
