Reports coming in from Iran say police have used tear gas to disperse hundreds of protestors who gathered in the capital, Tehran. Earlier, the country's Revolutionary Guards threatened to crack down on any further street protests by reformists. Opposition leader, Mir Hossein Mou-savi, has defended the right of his supporters to demonstrate against the disputed presidential elections. He claims he was defeated by President Mahmoud Ahmendinejad in a rigged ballot. Iran's Guardian Council insists the voting irregularities were not enough to change the outcome of the election.
