Germany is becoming a more popular tourist destination, according to the DZT German Tourism Center. The group expects the number of overnight stays in Germany to increase by two to three percent through 2005, driven predominately by foreign visitors. “The forecasts for German offerings look like there will be increasing demand,” DZT chairwoman Petra Hedorfer told the German news agency dpa on Friday. But tourism researcher Martin Lohmann said Germans are becoming more enthusiastic on planning vacations this year too. He told dpa more than 60 percent of Germans had already planned a holiday abroad for next autumn.
