Russia's hopes of competing in the Winter Olympics suffered a major blow after the World Anti-Doping Agency ruled that the country was yet to fulfill two key demands that Moscow said have a "political character."
The World Anti-Doping Agency has obtained data from a Russian database it said confirms allegations of state-sponsored doping. If verified, it would be a major blow to Russia's chances of competing at the 2018 Olympics.
Russia's Vladimir Putin said there were "major suspicions" that the US is trying to sway the presidential vote in his country by allegations of doping against Russia. Several Russian athletes lost their Sochi medals.
Until now, only individual Russians have been sanctioned over doping violations, but WADA was recently presented with new information. So will the IOC still allow Russian athletes to compete at the 2018 Winter Games?
