Take 10 days during “pre-spring“ in Berlin, add almost 400 movies – 83 of which should be world premieres – from 44 countries, 21 different juries, 11 movie theaters, one golden and half a dozen silver Bears, then throw in a few hundred meters of red carpet, 150 stars, 3,500 journalists and don’t forget several hundred thousand visitors to top things off. Mix things well and you’ll end up with this: the Berlinale 2004.

The 54th International Film Festival Berlin kicks off on Thursday. DW-WORLD will bring you the glitz and glamour, the news and stories from Germany’s largest movie spectacle.
