秋季里,德国人的节庆习俗
即便是在漫长而阴冷的秋季,德国人欢庆的热情也丝毫不受影响。那么,德国有哪些传统秋季节庆和习俗,它们又是怎么来的呢?
感恩节
早在公元三世纪,基督徒就有了在秋季感谢上帝为他们带来丰厚收成的习俗。一般来说,德国人会在十月份第一个周日过感恩节。不过,一进入九月份,各种庆祝秋季到来的活动就会纷纷登场。除了传统的葡萄酒节之外,近来,展示自家地里的南瓜,或者玉米地里的迷宫游戏也越来越受欢迎。
结束分治
如果1989年11月9日,柏林墙没有被推翻。今天的德国会是什么样子呢?位于柏林市中心的勃兰登堡门,既是两德分治,也是两德统一的象征。柏林墙被推倒大约一年之后,两个德国实现了统一。现在十月三日作为两德统一日,已经成了法定节日。
德国统一日
每年的十月三日,德国人都会庆祝统一日。政治家们照例会发表演说,许多城市会举办音乐会和燃放焰火。对相当多的德国人来说,这一天的政治意义和历史背景其实是次要的,真正让他们高兴的是,这一天不用上班。
放风筝
秋高气爽的日子里,放风筝无疑是不错的选择。市面上可以买到各种颜色的风筝,但是自己手工制作,显然会带来更多乐趣。秋季里,德国各地都会举办一些风筝比赛。
捡野栗子
秋天里,脱落的不仅是树叶,很多成熟的果实也会自然坠落。对孩子们来说,捡野栗子是件非常的事情。不过,要注意,栗子分两种,野栗子只可以做手工饰物,也可以做饲料,但绝不能食用。
鬼节
对凯特人来说,10月31日是夏季的终结,秋季的开始。为了驱鬼避邪,他们会在这一天戴上千奇百怪的面具。这一习俗逐渐演变成了今天美国人喜欢过的鬼节(Halloween)。在德国,人们也会在这一天将南瓜雕成各种吓人的样子,孩子们则会结队到各家唱歌募捐。不过,鬼节本身在德国还没有被广泛接受。
万圣节
罗马教会的每一位圣人,都有以其命名的节日。但随着封圣人数不断递增,这类节日也越来越多。于是,教宗额我略四世决意确定一个日子,以纪念所有的先贤圣士。德国从公元835年起,将十一月一日定为万圣节。民间也将这一日子作为悼念去世亲人的日子,所以每到万圣节,墓地里到处都可以看到摇曳的烛光。
圣马丁节
每年11月11日,孩子们都会特别兴奋。圣马丁节游行队伍在音乐和火炬的伴随着,穿过市中心,骑着高头大马的勇士还会向孩子们发放一种叫维克曼(Weckmann)的面包。接下来,孩子们则会拿着灯笼,挨家挨户去唱歌,领取甜食。据说,马丁原本是古代一位心地善良的牧师,一次他为了解救暴风雨雪中奄奄一息的乞丐,把自己的大衣一分两半送给对方一半。
圣马丁节烤鹅
关于圣马丁的传说中,鹅是一个重要的角色。据说,当年马丁为了逃避当主教的命运,曾躲到鹅圈里,但鹅嘎嘎的叫声最终还是出卖了不想出风头的马丁。为了纪念这些聪明的鹅,每到圣马丁节这一天,烤鹅就成了每家必备的佳肴美味。按照传统,开吃之前,大家还要共同背咏“赞鹅诗”。
吃绿菜
在德国北部的部分地区,吃“绿菜”是秋季里的保留节目。“绿菜”学名羽衣甘蓝,是德国秋冬季的大众蔬菜。秋季一到,北德人会和亲朋好友一起做一次“绿菜游”,除了感受大自然之外,最后到餐馆饱吃一顿绿菜是必不可少的项目。如图所示,绿菜一般被配上土豆和香肠。
折花枝
12月4日,是传统的圣芭芭拉节。在德国很多地区,人们会在这一天折一枝樱桃或其他果树枝,插在花瓶里。圣诞节当天,据说枝芽会准时开花。芭芭拉据传是一位希腊圣女,她因为不肯放弃基督信仰,最后被亲生父亲杀害。
圣尼古拉节
圣尼古拉一出现,就预示着秋季接近尾声了。每逢12月6日,身着红色长袍,蓄着雪白胡须的圣尼古拉都会带给我们喜悦和快乐。听话的孩子会得到礼物,不听话的则免不了受批评。圣尼古拉节可以追溯到拜占庭时期米拉城主教尼古拉,据说这位主教喜欢悄悄地给人们发放礼物。在美国,圣尼古拉被演绎称圣诞节从烟囱中进入家中,给人们带来礼物的圣诞老人。
