据日本媒体报道,日本有关当局计划将所逮捕的14名香港“保钓”人士驱逐出境。昨天,一批香港人士驾船抵达主权有争议岛屿群(中文名“钓鱼岛”,日文名“尖阁诸岛”),数人登上其中一岛,并插上中国五星红旗。这些人随后被日本以涉嫌违反移民法逮捕,并与周四被押送至冲绳岛。共同社报道说,这些人将在数天内被驱逐出境。所处海域的丰富渔业资源和所猜测的石油资源使该岛屿群具有战略意义。日本政府强烈抗议香港人士“非法越境”,并召见中国驻日大使;北京外交部也紧急召见日本驻华大使,并要求日方立即、无条件释放“保钓人士”。围绕该岛群的主权争议多年来使中日双边关系受到严重影响。台湾也对相关岛屿提出主权要求。
