Mwili wa mwanamke wa India ambaye amefariki hospitalini nchini Singapore baada ya kubakwa kinyama mjini New Delhi utarejeshwa kwa ndege maalum ya kukodi baadaye leo Jumamosi(29.12.2012).

Waziri mkuu wa india Manmohan Singh amesema kuwa amesikitishwa sana na kifo cha mwanamke huyo ambaye alifanyiwa vitendo vya kinyama kwa kubakwa na kundi la vijana na kwamba maandamano yaliyozuka kutoka na kitendo hicho , "yanaeleweka".

Wanawake wakiandamana nchini India wakipinga matumizi ya nguvu katika ngono

"nimesikitishwa mno kufahamu kuwa mhanga huyo wa mashambulizi ya kinyama ambayo yalifanyika Desemba 16 mjini New Delhi ameshindwa kunusurika kutokana na majeraha makubwa aliyoyapata baada ya shambulio dhidi yake, " ameandika waziri huyo mkuu katika tovuti yake.

"Tumekwisha ona hisia na nguvu ambazo tukio hili limesababisha. Hii ni hali ambayo inaeleweka kutoka kwa vijana wa india ambao wanataka mabadiliko ya kweli.

"Nataka kuwaambia , familia yake na taifa kwa jumla kuwa amepoteza maisha, ni juu yetu wote kuhakikisha kuwa kifo chake hakitakuwa cha bure."

India imetikiswa na maandamano makubwa tangu msichana huyo mwenye umri wa miaka 23 kushambuliwa kinyama katika basi mjini New Delhi na kundi la watu sita.

Serikali imekuwa ikijaribu kulituliza wimbi la hasira kwa kuahidi adhabu kali kwa uhalifu mkubwa unaohusiana na ngono pamoja na kuunda tume maalum ya uchunguzi kuhusiana na jinsi ya kushughulikia kesi za ubakaji.

Polisi wautaka umma kuomboleza kwa amani

Wakati maafisa wakijitayarisha kwa ghasia zaidi mitaani, polisi wameonekana kuongezwa katika eneo la kati la mji mkuu wa india kabla ya mwili wa msichana huyo mwenye umri wa miaka 23 haujarejeshwa nchini humo. Polisi wanajiandaa kwa maandamano makubwa zaidi nchini India

Singh , ambaye hapo kabla alitoa wito wa utulivu , amesema kuwa itakuwa , "Heshima kubwa kwa kumbukumbu yake iwapo tutaweza kuelekeza hisia zetu hizi na nguvu katika kuchukua hatua sahihi."

"Kwa muda huu tunahitaji mjadala wa maana na uchunguzi kuhusiana na mabadiliko ya lazima na haraka ambayo yanahitajika katika mtazamo wa jamii.

"Ni matumaini yangu kuwa tabaka lote la kisiasa pamoja na jamii yote itatenga maslahi yao finyu ya binafsi na ajenda ili kutusaidia kufikia hatima ambayo tunaikusudia, na kuifanya india kuwa mahali bora na salama kwa wanawake kuweza kuishi.
