Ben Ali na mkewe waadhibiwa miaka 35

Mahakama nchini Tunisia, imetoa hukumu ya kifungo cha miaka 35 kwa rais wa zamani Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali.

Kwa mujibu wa ripota mmoja wa shirika la habari la Reuters aliekuwepo mahakamani, hukumu juu ya mashtaka mengine ya kudhibiti madawa ya kulevya na silaha itatolewa Juni 30. Ben Ali , mkewe na watoto wao walikimbilia Saudi Arabia Januari 14 mwaka huu, baada ya kushinikzwa na maandamano makubwa ya kupinga utawala wake wa miaka 23 nchini Tunisia. Wakati wa utawala huo, Ben Ali, familia yake na ya mkewe zilijirundikia mali; na wale waliothubutu kumpinga, walikamatwa na vikosi vya usalama.
