When former German chancellor Helmut Kohl entertained visitors from abroad, he liked to serve them culinary specialties from his home state: a good wine from the Pfalz to accompany a dish called Saumagen, which literally means "sow's stomach". The stomach is used as a casing and filled with potatoes, carrots, meat and spices. That's why we thought you should get to know the regional wines and cuisine as well, and hardly anyone could show you better than Esther Bangerth-Rinck.
