World in Progress: Bitter lives for sugar workers

Guatemala is one of the most important sugar-producing countries, and 70 percent of the sugar that's grown there is exported. Working on the sugarcane plantations is hard and badly paid - and it's often the only way for people to earn money. But the price they pay is high, and many young men take drugs to keep going.
