DW Akademie works together with Bonn University and the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences.

Bonn University's institute for communication studies and its center for development research offer expertise in the areas of communication and media studies, development policy and international cooperation. 

The Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences is one of Germany's most innovative universities. It is among the first to have developed and established a degree program in technical journalism.
