Wage Dumping - Truckers under Pressure

The competition is fierce. More and more German transport companies are declaring bankruptcy. They can't compete with Eastern European firms now that the European transport business is opening up.

Eastern European firms often pay such low wages that their Western European counterparts can't keep pace. One Latvian trucking company even hires Philippine drivers, paying them just 680 euros a month to drive clear across the continent. Reporter Hagen Tober hits the road with some truckers.
