German Institute for Human Rights
Anna Würth is head of the unit development cooperation at the German Institute for Human Rights. She earned her PhD in Middle Eastern and Islamic studies and has taught at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Richmond in Virginia. She has worked with Human Rights Watch and has more than 15 years of experience as an independent consultant in development. Würth has published widely on contemporary Islamic law, on human rights and human rights policy. She recently worked with the British-Iraqi film maker Kasim Abid to conduct a film and human rights workshop that was organized by the German Institute for Human Rights and the Goethe-Institut / Liaison Office Erbil in Iraq. One of the resulting documentaries will be shown at the Global Media Forum.
