The World Wide Web is a gigantic marketing platform. More and more ad agencies are producing commercials to be spread by millions of users. But landing a global click hit with a so-called "viral" is not that easy.
"Virals" have to be emotionally appealing, funny, surprising or original to be spread by users through social networks. For advertising agencies, these internet videos are cheaper to make than TV ads, but the results are also less predictable. The target group is unclear and no one can say for sure who watches the ad - and passes it on.
