Tim Raue once belonged to a notorious Berlin street gang, but today he is an extremely successful chef with a blossoming reputation.

Success was certainly not handed to him on a silver platter. Tim Raue was born in Berlin in 1974. His parents separated when he was three years old. From then on he was passed back and forth between his two parents. His father often beat him until he was unconscious.

Nevertheless, thanks to iron discipline, Tim managed to work his way up to become one of Germany's youngest top chefs. Shortly after completely his training, he landed jobs with some top hotels and restaurants, including Berlin's exclusive Hotel Adlon. Then in 2010, he fulfilled a long-held dream by opening his own restaurant in Berlin together with this wife. Within a few months, the restaurant received a Michelin star. Now Tim Raue says he's working for his second star.
