The European transport network is a colossus which carries millions of people everyday - a web of highways, air corridors, railways, canals and rivers that crisscross for thousands of miles in all directions.Over the last decade it has undergone major developments, but much remains antiquated. The European Commission has just hosted an event in the Latvian capital, Riga. Nathan Morley reports.
