The Effect of Global Warming on Coral Reefs

A rising concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is also having an effect on the world’s oceans. Researchers in Kiel are trying to find out more about exactly what that means for marine ecosystems.

The fragile cold-water coral reefs found in the sea off the coast of Norway. The reefs are a hot-spot of diversity in this dark and frigid world, and preventing them from being destroyed in an age of global warming is a key area of environmental protection.
