This is my son at "Neues Museum" when he was three-and-a-half.. He wanted to know who "the man" (the Roman sculpture) is and why he is in the museum. I tried to give him a simple explanation about the sculpture, "the Boy of Xanten" to keep him interested. Abstract ideas tend to cut curiosity short at that age. Talking about the physical features about a work of art and trying make it all sound exciting to a little one is hard, but it is possible!
