Refugees from the time of the wars in the former Yugoslavia are still living in the Krnjaca Collective Centre. Now hundreds of North Africans, Pakistanis and Somalis are being sheltered there. Two generations of refugees are living cheek by jowl.
This summer, up to 4,000 refugees attempted to reach the EU via Bosnia-Herzegovina. Most remain stranded in camps, facing the prospect of a harsh winter. Frank Hofmann reports from Velika Kladusa.
Two migrants have been found dead in a Croatian forest, apparent victims of a landslide. The men are thought to have been traveling through Bosnia, where authorities say 4,000 migrants are waiting to enter the EU.
With the former "Balkan route" closed, more and more refugees are trying to make their way into the EU via Bosnia, where many end up stuck in a muddy tent city. Amir Puric reports from Velika Kladusa.
Dragoslav Ognjanovic was gunned down in front of his apartment building in a gangland-style killing, police said. He had been part of the legal team which defended Slobodan Milosevic at the Yugoslav war crimes tribunal.
