In recent years, the World Happiness Report has often listed the Danes among the happiest nations. Does that have something to do with fashion? The Scandic Style is airy, cool and, most of all, good for daily wear.
What makes people happy? That differs from country to country. And that's why different languages have different words for it.
A strong GDP and great social support are said to make a country happy. But a new ranking released for International Day of Happiness shows foreign-born residents of Germany are not as happy as locals.
Despite its dreary weather and long winters, Finland has emerged as the happiest country, according to a UN report. The unhappiest places were Burundi, the Central African Republic, South Sudan, Tanzania and Yemen.
Norway has claimed the top spot as the happiest country on Earth, unseating Scandinavian neighbor Denmark, the World Happiness Report found. The report also noted that Germans are happier but Americans are feeling blue.
