More than 44,000 runners from 133 countries are gearing up for the annual Berlin Marathon. The race has produced numerous world records, due to the flat course and usually mild weather. DW caught up with the men's favorites ahead of the big day.
When the running elite take to the start of marathon, it's not about winning. The business of athletes from Kenya, Tanzania or Ethiopia is lucrative. Success in Berlin sometimes means more than a world title.
