The Alphorn festival in Nendaz, Switzerland features an alpine horn competition, a parade in traditional costumes, as well as concerts. The group "The Alpine Sisters" even play rock music on their horns.
Cardboard boxes, tape and lots of helpers: that's all Olivier Grossetête needs to build an entire city. Aided by volunteers, the artist erected his largest work to date in the French city of Le Havre.
For women only: Bikers from around the world head to the Petrolettes festival. Held at Ferropolis, a former open-cast mine, it attracts some 500 participants. There are workshops, concerts and, naturally, bike races.
