Renaturing peatlands could prevent 40% of CO2 emissions
Climate scientists have sounded a new alarm involving wetland ecosystems. Although they make up little of Earth's surface area, bogs and peatlands store a huge amount of carbon. When they're drained, they eventually release it into the atmosphere.
