October 31, 2014 marks 30 years since India's then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated. But for the Sikh community, the first three days of November mark three decades since the violence that followed her death, during which thousands of Sikhs were deliberately targeted and viciously killed. This was in retaliation for Gandhi being killed by two of her own bodyguards, who were Sikh.
