The name RasenBallsport Leipzig – or RB Leipzig for short – doesn't sound particularly exciting. The club is in the fourth division, to no one's surprise.
But it's also conducting what might be the most exciting experiment in German football. A company with turnover in the billions -- Austrian-based Red Bull -- now sponsors the club, and is setting its sights on the first division. With highly-professional structures, a crack team of former Bundesliga players and plenty of cash, the firm is trying to copy Hoffenheim's meteoric rise to the top a few years ago.
