European talks with Iran over the country’s nuclear capabilities ended without a breakthrough on Wednesday. The talks, which took place in Vienna, ended without Iran agreeing to suspend its uranium enrichment programme. British, French and German diplomats met their Iranian counterparts behind closed doors to persuade Iran to agree on a package of incentives in return for a halt to activities which many fear could be part of a nuclear weapon bid. With a Nov. 25 deadline still some way away there still appears to be time for agreement. "We haven't closed the door for an understanding ... but will reach compromise if there is a balanced package of agreement", Iran's chief delegate to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Hossein Mousavian, told state-run radio Wednesday, according to the Associated Press.
