The Neuschwanstein Castle, built by Ludwig II. the fairytale king, remains the biggest tourist magnet in Bavaria. The Würzburg Residence and the Imperial Castle of Nuremberg are also popular with visitors.
No less than 41 sites - architectural and natural marvels - in Germany have been placed on UNESCO’s World Heritage list. Each is unique and authentic as well as popular with tourists.
