The third season of Night Grooves gets off to a dazzling start with veteran German rock band City and star American violinist Lindsey Stirling. City perform “Am Fenster" ("At the Window") - the biggest rock hit from former East Germany. And Stirling performs what may well be the best known violin solo in rock history. This composition has racked up over 220 million views on YouTube.
Lindsey Stirling's musical style is a cross-over, mixing several genres, including classical, dubstep and hip-hop. On Night Grooves, the accomplished violinist tells how she succeeded in making herself a super star with a fan base of millions without the help of music producers. A very special world premiere will be taking place on this edition of Night Grooves: Leonard Cohen's classic "Hallelujah" in an unplugged version played by Georgi Gogow of City and Lindsey Stirling on two violins. Once again, it's all coming to you from Haus Schminke in Löbau, Saxony. It was designed by Hans Scharoun in the 1930s.
