DW Akademie works worldwide with people who are persistently and creatively committed to free media. On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, we present some of them.
A journalist who works to ensure that indigenous Bolivians can hear their languages on the radio. An investigative reporter who wants to establish journalistic standards in Mongolia. Young citizen reporters who tell the everyday stories of those in refugee camps in Lebanon, who are all too often perceived only as strangers or a burden.
DW Akademie works together with impressive, committed people in its projects worldwide. On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, we invited some of them to tell their stories – representing the many more fighters for media freedom and the right of access to information in the world. For us they are heroes, because they show how society can be changed with courage, creativity and perseverance.
We are proud to develop media together with them – and strengthen human rights in the long term.
