The baobab is perhaps the most striking tree in Africa, nicknamed the 'upside down tree' with thick trunks and lofty heights. These giant trees are endangered though, as local farmers believe them to be useless and chop them down. but its fruit is rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber, so some hope that by growing them for international markets, there may just be a way to save them.
