Scotland is voting in an election that could pave the way for a new referendum on the country's independence. In a 2014 referendum, 55% of voters favored staying in the UK, but two years later, a firm majority opposed leaving the EU. First Minister Nicola Sturgeon says a fresh majority for her Scottish National Party would be a mandate for pursuing a second independence drive.
