The UN has voiced alarm over China detaining a million Uighurs and other Muslim minorities in the northwestern region of Xinjiang. Khairat Samarkhan, a Kazakh, spent half a year in one of the detention centers. And he's one of the few to have made it out. He now lives Kazakhstan, raising awareness about others who are still detained in China.
