They say travel broadens the mind. Especially when you are young. Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius is still only 22 but when he was a tender 18 year-old, he experienced footballing life abroad at Manchester City.

Loris Karius : “I want to play for Germany”

Since his return three years ago, he has been Mainz’s first choice goalkeeper.

And next season he will almost certainly be playing abroad again. Possibly even in the Champions League. Speaking to DW's Kick Off! programme, the Mainz goalkeeper confirmed his dream is to play for the German national team and challenge Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer for the number one shirt.
