Lourdes Starts 150th Anniversary Celebrations of Mary Visions

150 years ago, Lourdes in south-western France was just an insignificant village nestled into the foothills of the Pyrenees. That was until a young French girl, Bernadette Soubirous had visions of the Virgin Mary there.

This year Catholic pilgrims are descending on the small town for the commemoration the 150th anniversary of a series of the visions of Saint Bernadette.
