Polish primeval forest threatened at risk

Europe's last primeval lowland forest, the Bialowieza in Poland, is being devoured by spruce bark beetles. The environment ministry says the only way to stop the infestation is to cut down large swathes of dead trees. But ecologists say the government is acting in the interests of the logging industry, and are appealing to the European Commission to intervene.
