Transcending borders – together and in peace. For decades, we in Europe have seen how that’s possible. The fall of the Berlin Wall shows especially clearly how people yearn for freedom. Every morning on my way to Deutsche Welle, I pass one of the markings on the street that show where the Wall used to stand. Where tyranny and violence ruled. It's a great feeling to simply walk right across that line – as if it were nothing.
