Hit the switch, light a beacon

Saturday, March 28th is Earth Hour. The annual worldwide event encourages you to turn off non-essential lights for one hour.

Petronas Towers in the dark: During Earth Hour last year the lights at Malaysia's landmark have been switched off.

It's that time again. #link:http://www.earthhour.org/:Earth Hour# is a worldwide movement for the planet organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It encourages you and everyone else, individuals, communities, households and businesses to turn off lights for one hour. The exact time for your country #link:http://www.earthhour.org/earth-hour-around-world:can be found here#. Hitting the switch is as a symbol of commitment to saving the planet.

Earth hour started in Sydney, Australia in 2007. The movement rapidly gained momentum and some 7000 cities and towns worldwide are now involved. We want you to show us your participation. Take photos or shoot videos of monuments with switched off lights, or of youself and your sourroundings in the dark.
