Henning Brümmer, Lighting Cameraman

Born in 1971 in Kiel, Henning Brümmer started his film career studying camera direction with the renowned German cameraman Michael Ballhaus.

Thereafter, he gained experience working on various film and documentary productions. Henning Brümmer is best known internationally for his work on the film “The White Diamond” (2004) by Werner Herzog.

Brümmer has recently worked on two unique documentary films “Erklär mir Liebe” and “Feindberührung”, both produced in 2010. He also contributed to innovative formats such as the documentary series “Sarah und die Küchenkinder” (2008) with Sarah Wiener, as well as the successful Channel 4 series “The Heist” (2004). In addition, Brümmer was also the lead cameraman on the classical documentaries “The Promise of Music” (2008) and “Monumente der Klassik” (2006).

Henning Brümmer has also worked for years as a lighting cameraman for opera, theater and ballet performances at some of Europe’s most important venues, including the Salzburg Festival and the Berlin State Opera. In this capacity he also worked on the award-winning production, “Das Beethoven Projekt” (2010).

He has also made a name for himself internationally as a lighting designer for classical and rock concerts (most recently using 3D technology), including for the Berlin Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

During his career, Brümmer has worked with the following directors: Werner Herzog, Christoph Schlingensief, Vincent Paterson, Andres Veiel, Brian Large and Enrique Sánchez Lansch.
