Gunther Krichbaum on Conflict Zone

German MP Gunther Krichbaum, head of the Bundestag EU affairs committee, defended the recent EU decision to tie budget payments to the rule of law, saying it helps to put pressure on problematic countries. "We can never tolerate sick democracies in the EU," he told DW's Conflict Zone host Tim Sebastian.
