Greenland is melting

Researchers say that the ice cap that covers Greenland is growing six meters thinner every year. Scientists mounted an expedition to measure what climate change is doing to Greenland's ice cover.

GPS signals measure the thickness of the ice crust. Other instruments measure pressure and temperature in 300 meter-deep holes. The results of the expedition show that the ice sheet is melting extremely fast. Every year, it is growing six meters thinner.
