Germany's top court has ruled that gays in civil partnerships should be allowed to adopt their partner's adopted children. The court said this woud benefit the children concerned. But gays may still not adopt together.
Fundamental rights of the LGBT community in India have been put into the spotlight as the country's top court hears arguments over ending a colonial-era ban on homosexuality. Murali Krishnan reports.
The Indian government has said the Supreme Court should decide on the legality of the law criminalizing homosexual acts. In 2013, the court overturned a lower court judgment that declared the law unconstitutional.
