Head of the Department “Governance, Statehood and Security” at the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE)
Jörg Faust has been heading the governance, statehood and security department at the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) since 2007. His work concentrates on the link between political institutions and economic development, north-south relations and the effectiveness of development assistance. His recent academic publications are mainly focused on democratization, decentralization, the political economy of aid effectiveness and foreign policy analysis. Beyond his academic work, he has done consultancy work and has been given policy advice to German and international organizations such as the BMZ, GIZ, KfW-Development Bank, the World Bank, UNDP and others.
