Volkswagen's T-Roc has been on the road for 2 years. Now the auto giant is creating a new variant of the compact SUV: the T-Roc convertible. That's helping VW expand its model range in the industry's fastest-growing segment.
The German car giant said it will invest even more money than previously planned into expanding its electric fleet. Over the next decade, VW plans to roll out 75 completely electric models and 60 hybrid vehicles.
Volkswagen is serious about electromobility. In the city of Zwickau, near Germany's Czech border, the carmaker is pressing ahead with the production of its ID.3 electric car. Henrik Böhme was there to see it.
Volkswagen reportedly wants to start producing some 200,000 electric vehicles at the two sites beginning in 2022. The move is part of the automaker's broader strategy to move to produce cleaner cars.
There is good news from Berlin. The new airport is finally open, however only for Volkswagen since they want to park thousands of unsold cars there. At the same time, some employees won't have to work as much.
