Love Me Do
Celebrations were held in Liverpool marking the 50th anniversary of the forming of The Beatles. It featured concerts, lectures and the world's biggest Beatles convention. The event has drew fans from some 40 countries to the birthplace of one of the most successful bands of all time.

Copenhagen Cooking
Every year Scandinavians celebrate their culinary heritage at the Copenhagen Cooking festival. Among the treats at the 10-day festival are an oyster safari in the Port of Copenhagen, cookery courses, chocolate dinners, and the chance to sample the cuisine of Michelin-starred chefs.

Art for a Good Cause
A homeless shelter in Düsseldorf sells donated pieces of art in its 'fiftyfity' gallery and invests the proceeds into public housing projects. It’s supported by A-list artists including Gerhard Richter and Thomas Ruff.

Explosive Photographer
Michael Dammer takes photos of demolitions. He captures the beauty of implosions, and documents the final chapter of a building's history. We joined him for some artful destruction at a mine in the Ruhr valley.

Extreme Swimmer Kirsten Seidel
Kirsten Seidel from Dresden has swum across Lake Constance from north to south. She has already swum across the stretch of water separating Germany and Denmark.
