The EU has said US tariffs would be met with a "proportionate response." The European Council, IMF and WTO have warned Trump he is very wrong about trade wars being easy to win.
The European Union has said it will introduce retaliatory measures against US plans to impose steel and aluminum tariffs. The WTO and IMF have voiced their concerns over US President Donald Trump's threat of a trade war.
The US will reportedly spare Mexico, Canada and possibly others from tariffs, under national security "carve-outs." The tariff bill will likely be signed on Thursday or Friday and will go into effect two weeks after.
